These rifles were marketed by Smith & Wesson but were manufactured by Howa Machinery, Ltd. in Japan, known for their quality production standards. This is a solid and accurate rifle. 

The inclusion of a Leupold 3-9×40 VX scope adds significant value to the package.  Bore sighted only, you will need to fine tune prior to entering the field. The smooth action and overall design make the S&W 1700 series a respected choice among collectors and hunters alike.
